Allity Lexington Gardens
Project Overview
This project was for the construction of a two-storey extension at Allity’s Lexington Gardens aged care facility in Springvale. The project was undertaken to expand the facility’s capacity and enhance its services. The works comprised the addition of 38 beds integrated into the existing residence, offering both permanent and respite care. The extension was thoughtfully designed to merge seamlessly with the original building, ensuring consistency in aesthetics, functionality and residential experience.
Construction involved post tensioned suspended floor slabs to provide structural efficiency and durability. Externally, the building features a combination of fascia brickwork and Hebel panels. Each of the newly developed rooms boasts access to either a private balcony, courtyard or garden. In addition to the new accommodation, Total Construction delivered several new amenities including a hair salon and café, as well as a new commercial kitchen and laundry to service the facility. Total Construction also completed a refurbishment of key internal areas, including the lobby, reception, administration areas, servery and dining area, existing stores, and bathrooms.
Overcoming Challenges
Total Construction designed a detailed and flexible program to ensure the operational requirements of the facility remained in place during construction. This carefully planned project demonstrates our ability to deliver complex aged care developments with precision, care and minimal disruption to residents and staff. Design changes were also catered for to deliver a facility we are incredibly proud of.
