TOTAL WINS THE CONTRACT FOR HAMMONDCARES’ LATEST AGED CARE PROJECT

MEDIA RELEASE

After 25 years as CEO with HammondCare, and in his final weeks in the role, Dr Stephen Judd signs contracts with Total Construction.

Total construction are proud to announce, last Friday, they were awarded the design and construct contract for the final phase of the HammondCare Miranda Village. Total Construction will deliver a $21 million aged care home, due to commence in mid-August and featuring a 60-bedroom home spanning three levels. The community will be able to enjoy spacious single suites with beautifully appointed ensuites, large outdoor terraces and landscaped gardens as well as a choice of communal and dining areas. Back of house will comprise basement car parking, small domestic kitchens and localised laundry facilities.

Total Construction was successful in winning this tender because of their unwavering commitment to improving the built environments in aged care. Total is proud of its passion for having positive impacts on the lives of the residents and a deep understanding of what it means to work in an operational village where minimal disruption is key.

Once again, Total will be teaming up with partners, IDG Architects, and Caverstock Project Management to deliver this project.

‘Today marks a very significant day for Total’, Says Steve Taylor, Managing Director Total Construction. ‘We are extremely proud to be the chosen construction partner on our third major project for HammondCare.’

Steve goes on to say, ‘We have now completed more than 60 aged care projects nationally valued over $500m with 80% being repeat business. This is a testament to the entire Total Team and their understanding and appreciation of how the built environment impacts older people. We see the residents, their families and the services staff as key stakeholders in the journey.’

Steve finished by saying, ‘On behalf of the Total Construction team, I would like to thank Dr Stephen Judd for the opportunity to work on the HammondCare developments and to wish him all the best in his future endeavours and to welcome the Honourable Mr Mike Baird.’

Total Construction is a major sponsor for the International Dementia Conference this September alongside the Department of Health. Their commitment to the aged care industry and ability to strike the perfect balance between building a hospital, hotel and home is driven through a dedicated team of specialists, collaborative partnerships, and strong leadership.
