Over the past 18 months, Total Construction has been working with Micheal Kresner, Advantage Care Managing Director on developing and building a home that sets a new standard for the aged care industry.
“Edensor Gardens is leading-edge and will change the way the construction industry and aged providers view the future of the aged care homes and the importance the built environment has on consumers.” Steve Taylor, Managing Director Total Construction says.
Steve goes on to say, “We are extremely proud of this ground-breaking project and seeing Edensor Gardens finished and families enjoying living there and beginning to call it home is the best part for us.”
Edensor Gardens is the 5th home in the Advantaged Care portfolio and will provide its residents, families, and staff a unique and lovely combination of homelike warmth and serenity coupled with the luxurious elements of a boutique five-star hotel.
“Together with Steve Taylor and Marc Varnam, the Construction Manager from Total Construction and Simon Thorne from Integrated Design Group, we have been able to deliver a state-of-the-art home. Edensor Gardens will provide residents with an amazing lifestyle, the best in house services and professional person-centred care,” said Michael Kresner, Advantaged Care Managing Director.
As an industry leader in Australia with over 25 years’ experience, Total Construction has been working closely with aged care and retirement living providers nationally to ensure all their development support the wellbeing of older Australians and their families for many years to come.
Steve says, “At Total Construction, we have taken time to educate our teams from Project Managers through to Sub-Contractors on how the built environment can impact the lives of the residents, the staff and the families.”
“It’s crucial throughout the lifecycle of an aged care development, more than any other that first and foremost, we remember that this is going to be someone’s home. Everything we look at is through that lens. Creating innovative design outcomes for our clients is a culture embedded across the whole organisation – it’s what drives us.”
Louise Johnston, Associate Director, Health & Aged Care at Westpac, added “Congratulations to the Total Team on the completion of Edensor Gardens. The quality of the build and how well the project was run, particularly in difficult times over recent months is a testament to the culture and work ethic of the organisation.”
Edensor Gardens offers an abundance of light-filled flexible living spaces, a seamless indoor-outdoor feel, beautifully finished bedrooms all with oversized ensuites that are perfect for singles. Consideration has also gone into couples in care, with companions suites including kitchenettes. In addition, each community share a dining room, lounges, and a kitchen.
Other features include a cinema, beauty salon, hairdresser, café, private dining rooms for residents to host guests and wellness spaces. The exterior landscape offers a variety of gardens and terraces, a children’s play area, a vegetable garden, and a men’s purpose-built shed.
“Working with all these professionals has enabled the creation of a new type of aged care home, one that demonstrates how aged care is evolving. It has been an incredible journey and one that the Total Team have thoroughly enjoyed.” Steve says.
Edensor Gardens was built by Total Construction, designed by award-winning architects Integrated Design Group, managed by M Project with Turner Studio responsible for the interiors.
