Project Description

TOTAL was awarded the contract to construct a new food production facility for Beak & Johnson City Kitchen.

The scope included, the construction of a structural steel framed warehouse with metal roof sheeting and concrete internal slabs.

The building cladding is a combination of metal and aluminium cladding, PIR panel sheeting & precast walls.

The internal warehouse includes high care and low care production areas with 2 main racking storage areas, 3 freezers, retail area and mezzanine area that will house office spaces, lunchrooms and changerooms.

External work included 1 main carpark with some parking on the north side of the building and 2 loading docks.

Overcoming Challenges

Challenges include asbestos contaminated grounds and redesign works of the main production area due to client business increasing and expanding the current capacity.

Innovations

Redesign works and program resequencing in order to meet client expectations, requirements and to overcome wet weather delays.
