Project Completion | Storage King Knoxfield
Delivering Another Cutting-Edge Storage King Facility in Australia
We are thrilled to announce the official completion of Storage King in Knoxfield, VIC.
Total Construction was engaged to transform an existing warehouse into a modern two-storey self storage facility for Abacus Group and Storage King. The facility houses 765 self storage units, car parking, and ground floor office and retail space.
The team implemented several innovations and value management strategies to achieve design efficiencies, sustainability goals and cost savings for the client, including:
- An extensive 8-month workshop to refine scope and deliverables to meet budget requirements.
- Non Destructive Digging (NDD) to protect tree roots within the tree protection zone.
- Redesign of the stormwater detention system in collaboration with civil consultants.
- Increasing efficiency of design and lettable space by reconfiguring the fire pump room and storage tank room.
- Redesign of the brickwork parapet for a more lightweight, cost-effective solution.
Congratulations to the project team – Project Manager Khairul Zulkifli, Site Foreman Troy Gibson, Project Coordinator Fabien Vinci, Site Engineer Tom Minogue, Contracts Administrator Andres Huertas, Health, Safety and Environmental Coordinator Clayton Mullett, Construction Manager Lou Cardamone, Pre-Construction Manager Rob Nowak, Senior Estimator Michael Tabatabaian, Sub-Contractor Alliance Coordinator Mia Tremblay.
