Construction has commenced at StoreLocal Pakenham
Construction has progressed remarkably at StoreLocal Pakenham since its commencement in late May. This is our third project for StoreLocal, having successfully delivered two Queensland sites in Berrinba and Pacific Pines.
Drone footage has captured the progress so far, showcasing Concrete Precast Systems installing the precast panels along the southern and eastern walls. The precast is on track to be installed along two-thirds of the northern wall by the end of June.
MKM Structural Steel will soon begin installation of the structural steel from the eastern boundary, working in sequence with CPS and Civiworks, who will pour the ground slab. The structural steel design element was decided by the team after an in-depth Value Management process to ensure the project adheres to budget.
Total Construction has also taken measures to overcome winter’s challenging soil conditions. The team were required to over-excavate and apply additional blinding in certain areas to meet geotechnical engineering requirements of bearing capacity. Additionally, a cement stabilisation has been applied to reduce soil permeability.
The Total Construction team in Victoria are excited to be working on this project. We look forward to seeing this incredible collaboration come together, with completion expected in March 2026.
