Flying The Flag for MATES In Construction
Fundraising for Suicide Prevention in the Construction Industry
Total Construction recently had the pleasure of hosting BBQs at our key sites across NSW and QLD in support of MATES in Construction and R U OK?
This year’s events were incredibly successful – we raised a total of nearly $8K towards MATES In Construction, which was made possible by the contributions from our subcontractors, suppliers and clients. Total Construction has matched this donation, doubling the impact of their generosity.
Did you know that construction workers in Australia are eight times more likely to die from suicide than from an accident at work? MATES in Construction is a charity with a mission of reducing the high suicide levels among Australian construction workers – a cause that directly affects our people and reflects our core values.
Mental health is a real challenge in the construction industry, and too often goes unspoken. These initiatives serve as an important reminder to check in on your mates – not just today, but any day. It’s a small gesture that could save someone’s life.
Together, we can build a safer, stronger and more connected construction industry.
Thank you to the following companies for your generosity and support for this initiative – ARC, Aqua Pipeline Contracting, GKC Cranes, Strictly Cranes, PT One Pty Ltd, Prime Form, Boral Australia, DLC Interior, Storco, All Lift, Ausline Roofing, Mars Bars Steel Fixes.
