Project Specifications

Client
Ormiston Rise Retirement Village

Value
$4 million

Location
Ormiston, Queensland

Completion
June 2024

Total has been engaged to deliver the construction of a new Community Centre, incorporating an outdoor heated swimming pool, large community area for functions and gatherings including a dance floor, kitchen, games room, library, crafts room, hairdressing salon, separate lounge area with bar, BBQ area, multiple terraces and a meeting room at Ormiston Rise, a newly developed retirement village.

This will be a traditional build with a combination of strip footing and screw piers to support the reinforced suspended concrete slab. A basement will accommodate a bespoke ‘Men’s Shed’ and gardening room. External walls will be rendered blockwork with internal plaster board walls. The community and dining rooms spill onto a large al-fresco outdoor entertaining space with a BBQ and outdoor seating.

The Community Centre will be completed with a range of contemporary finishes including stone bench tops, carpet and timber flooring, glass balustrades and streamline fixtures.

OVERCOMING CHALLENGES

The challenge we will most likely face is dealing with the current market volatility and sub-contractor commitments. Our intention is to start early procurement and negotiation with key trades and suppliers.
