Construction of two 2 storey storage facility
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Total was engaged to deliver the design and construction of two new two-storey Kennards Self Storage facilities within the Aura Business Park at Bells Creek.
Our scope of works has included two buildings constructed of concrete slabs on ground, tilt panel walls, suspended particle board mezzanines and structural steelwork including roof framing. 2 new free standing steel framed canopies have been constructed between each building as well as car parks and driveways, 3 bio-retention basins, a compacted gravel hardstand area in the area of future buildings 3 & 4 as well as perimeter fencing to the entire site.
An office has been located on the ground floor of building 1 and has been fitted out with a meeting room and offices, staff amenities and a customer showroom.
The external façade has different types of metal cladding, tilt up concrete panels, louvres and feature CFC cladding to provide the aesthetic appeal to suit the structure and meet our clients corporate image.
OVERCOMING CHALLENGES
Access and control to multi-storey construction is always a challenge, but this has been overcome through high levels of safety control and a detailed planning and programming process. Naturally, working within the confines of an established Business Park has required careful consideration of neighbouring tenancies.
