Another successful project completion…Storage King Burwood Victoria.
Significantly, this development marks our 6th project for Abacus Group and our 17th Storage King Self Storage Facility.
The focus of this project was upgrading services and fit out of an existing warehouse to ensure the facility was modernised and safe for use.
Our team delivered the following:
- Demolition works and the construction of a new Storage King office.
- Upgrading the existing electrical infrastructure, replacing electrical cabling and 30 years+ switchboards.
- A full roof refurbishment.
- Sprinkler head replacements for the entire facility, including the basement, ground and Level 1.
- Construction of over 3,000m2 of new storage units.
- The fit-out of storage units to the existing open warehouse on Level 1.
- Repainting and rebranding of the external façade to meet Storage King’s new style, along with the installation of new signage and fencing.
Innovatively, a Dropmaster siphoning system was deployed to reduce water ingress into the existing units. This system eliminated the need to use buckets and tarps whilst replacing sprinkler heads.
Our construction processes were carefully planned and completed within the live site environment, taking into consideration the needs of the existing tenants and their customers, as well as Storage King’s operations. We diligently minimised disruptions and ensured a smooth transition for all parties involved.

It was all celebrations last Friday night, as TOTAL Queensland came away with the prestigious Master Builders Queensland Award in the category of Commercial/Industrial Building ($15-30m Brisbane) for our impressive StoreLocal Berrinba Self Storage project.
This past Sunday, TOTAL team members, along with their family and friends, came together at community locations in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to participate in Australia’s largest tree planting and nature care event: Planet Ark’s National Tree Day.
