New Project | Swift Storage Plainland
Project Overview
Following the successful completion of Swift Storage in Torrington earlier this year, Total Construction has been awarded the design and construct of another Swift Storage development in Plainland QLD!
Our Queensland team is gearing up to deliver a new single-storey, 3,300m² self storage facility for Swift Storage and USSFM. The facility will feature three adjoining lightweight buildings, with tilt-up concrete panels, a Colorbond façade, storage units of varying sizes, and supporting car parking, signage and landscaping.
Overcoming Challenges
Ground conditions presented an early challenge with no geotechnical report provided, but the team worked closely with engineers and sub-contractors to refine construction methodologies and minimise risk and cost impacts.
Innovations
The team opted for screw piers over bored piers to simplify coordination, speed up installation and eliminate spoil management issues. The team also worked with civil sub-contractors to reuse cut material from stormwater and earthworks, reducing imported fill and boosting efficiency.
This practical problem-solving and collaboration has set up the project for a smooth delivery, with completion due at the middle of this year.

It was all celebrations last Friday night, as TOTAL Queensland came away with the prestigious Master Builders Queensland Award in the category of Commercial/Industrial Building ($15-30m Brisbane) for our impressive StoreLocal Berrinba Self Storage project.
This past Sunday, TOTAL team members, along with their family and friends, came together at community locations in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to participate in Australia’s largest tree planting and nature care event: Planet Ark’s National Tree Day.
