New Project | Swift Storage Greenbank
We’re pleased to announce we’ve been awarded the design and construction of a new Swift Storage facility comprising of two double-storey buildings.
The buildings will be constructed using a structural steel frame with tilt panels, masonry and suspended concrete slabs, finished in steel cladding. The development includes associated concrete hardstand, access provisions for vehicular circulation, and site infrastructure to support efficient day‑to‑day operation.
The team have been collaborating closely with Swift Storage and USSFM to overcome challenging ground conditions and survey discrepancies. Early geotechnical investigations have confirmed a stiff sandstone profile across the site, with excavation through rock required for earthworks, foundations and inground services.
Post tender discrepancies were identified between the original survey data and existing site conditions. A re-survey has since been completed, with any resulting changes to be managed under the head contract.
The design includes benched building pads cut into the slope, with retaining walls at each level. The team is currently working through value-led options, including swapping Dincel for blockwork and confirming the most cost-effective retaining wall system to support buildability and cost certainty.
As our third project for Swift Storage and eighth with Universal Self Storage Funds Management (USSFM), it reflects our strong working relationships built across several successful previous deliveries.
The project is an example of early collaboration and problem-solving setting up the project well from the start. It demonstrates the high levels of trust and confidence our repeat clients have in us.
