New Project | Kennards Self Storage Darra
Total Construction has been awarded the contract for the design and construction of a new five-storey Kennards Self Storage facility in Darra, QLD.
The project includes a lower ground level, a suspended concrete podium and 3 upper levels of storage. The facility will house a showroom, office, amenities, and more than 700 storage units purpose-built to meet Kennards Self Storage’s operational requirements.
The site has brought a few early challenges, including soft clay soils that require screw-piled foundations and careful sequencing to manage access via a shared driveway with neighbouring businesses.
Design refinements have already improved efficiency – including removing the basement increased storage capacity and replacing lightweight framing with blockwork on the lower ground floor, offering trades more flexibility as construction ramps up.

Construction commenced in late October 2025, with the delivery team led by Mick Davis, Ash Gholami, Milan Sekulic, Kevin Mathew, Christian De Paoli and Owen Stanley.
Construction is now well underway, with civil and retaining wall works progressing, inground services scheduled for installation in the coming weeks, pad footing pours and reinforcing steel installation underway, as well as the tower crane installation. Project completion is targeted for February 2027

This past Sunday, TOTAL team members, along with their family and friends, came together at community locations in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to participate in Australia’s largest tree planting and nature care event: Planet Ark’s National Tree Day.
