Redevelopment and refurbishment of an existing facility.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Healthe Care and Total Construction collaborated to redevelop and refurbish this existing clinic to a high-standard finish which is the benchmark for future projects. We assisted the client through pre-contract value engineering to ensure the best value for money.
The contracted works consisted of a suspended post-tensioned two-storey parking facility. A temporary car park was created on the neighbouring property while these works were undertaken.
Additionally, a new building was added to the existing facility – a two-storey facility with the capacity for 44 new beds, a nurses’ station and consulting rooms. The lower ground also accommodates additional car parking to cope with the high volume of patients and visitors to the clinic.
Renovations and modernisation of the existing facility were carried out in stages to ensure the clinic remained operational.
OVERCOMING CHALLENGES
The project was complex due to programming and construction interfacing within a live hospital environment. Close co-ordination between the client and project team ensured a well-planned and progressive project.
