Redevelopment and refurbishment of existing hospital.
Total Construction worked closely with Healthe Care to achieve a very high-quality finish to this project. The contracted works were performed in separate portions to ensure the hospital could remain fully operational throughout the construction period.
Works included the upgrade of infrastructure, the main stormwater system service, and the installation of a new fire main service. This required the single-lane access road to be excavated for installation of pipes whilst maintaining traffic flow to the property.
During construction, Total faced a number challenges, including working around the hospital to allow it to maintain operations whilst meeting the strict Qld Health requirements. This necessitated extensive communication with the Hospital Director and Risk Manager, regular program updates, and flexibility within the sequence of works.
In addition to this, Total undertook a great deal of value management, design and detail resolution to ensure the client was receiving the best value for money and the best possible finish.
