Project Specifications
Construction of 12 buildings across 2 waste water treatment plant sites
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
UGL completed the construction of two plants for Shoalhaven Water, as part of the Shoalhaven City Council. Together the plants are $100 million in value, with Nowra at circa $60 million and Bomaderry at circa $40 million.
This project involved the construction of twelve buildings across two Waste Water Treatment Plant Sites (WWTP) – six buildings for the Bomaderry WWTP site and six buildings for the Nowra WWTP site.
OVERCOMING CHALLENGES
One of our challenges was operating within a live and operational site. This meant deliveries were coordinated to within a few hours, and the regional nature of the project exacerbated compliance with the requirements. Movement of people, materials and machinery around the site was constantly planned and re-planned.
INNOVATIONS
This is the first time we operated in a ‘sub-contractor’ position under a head contractor. We adapted our systems to reflect this situation during the project, and the client was appreciative that our documentation was generally superior than their usual sub-contractors.
