Project Specifications
Refurbishment of an existing Child Care Centre
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This project comprised a full refurbishment of Think Childcare’s existing 4 level Port Melbourne facility.
The scope included for a full strip out of the facility and the installation of new joinery, doors and windows, appliances, sanitary ware, plastering, painting and an overhaul of the electrical and mechanical services. We installed ateliers throughout the facility for the children to enjoy.
Our scope also included for the installation of a new commercial kitchen with grease pit and flue exhaust system.
The whole facility has benefitted from the refurbishment, enjoying a refreshed colour scheme and smart finishes and new flooring, as well as a new look external deck and play areas with glass balustrade.
OVERCOMING CHALLENGES
The facility remained operational as the works were carried out, with a staged program allowing for the handover of a completed level prior to works commencing on the next one.
Concise communication with the facility staff was crucial for the integration of works in and around the facility without impact on its operations.
The project was completed within a tight 3 month program – in time for the clients grand re-opening.
