Design and Construction of a
multi-level and multi-building
3 level Self Storage facility
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Total has been awarded the contract to Design & Construct this multi- level Self Storage facility comprising 2 separate buildings over 3 levels.
The construction is a traditional method utilising bored piers and with slab on ground and concrete columns supporting the upper slabs. Levels 1 and 2 have been designed as post tension with the roof structure comprising structural steel and Colorbond roof sheeting.
The simplicity of the design will help with the construction methodology and time frames.
OVERCOMING CHALLENGES
Trades including lifts, structural steel, and roofing with long lead times and the continual costs increase in base products e.g., concrete and reinforcing steel will be challenging as these will be requiring earlier procurement and commitment from suppliers to hold pricing for the duration of the project.
We’re also working on both building structures simultaneously to enable the completion of the structures within the specified build period.
INNOVATIONS
Reduced time frames will be achieved through early procurement and contractors working to the program.
