Project Specifications
Arcade refurbishment at Stockland Piccadilly Shopping centre
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The ground floor refurbishment of this retail shopping mall comprised floor finish replacement to the Pitt Street entrance, Alucobond cladding to fire doors, re-cladding of brass fittings, pendant lights to replace linear fittings, new signage over shop fronts, new ceilings and feature panels, column cladding and refurbishment of the existing rest rooms.
OVERCOMING CHALLENGES
The project was awarded in January and completed within time by mid-March 2007. The design brief required significant liaison with the architect and other consultants to interpret and execute the concepts which were essentially sketches and pictures rather than working drawings. All work had to be done out of normal hours so as not to interrupt the trading activity within the mall.
The end result is a refreshed mall with wide appeal to the public.
