Facade recladding works

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Total Special Projects has been awarded the contract for the replacement of non-compliant cladding at two Royal Freemasons Homes of Victoria facilities – the Coppin Centre in Melbourne (just off St. Kilda Road) and Redmond Park in Carlton. The Coppin Centre is a residential aged care facility. Redmond Park offers retirement living apartments.

We will be delivering the projects concurrently, with Redmond Park commencing on a 5 month program and the Coppin Centre on a 10 month program. The works will be staged, and we will use a mixture of scaffold and cherry pickers at the Coppin Centre, and multiple booms lifts at Redmond Park to access, remove and replace the cladding.

The cladding replacement will be on a ‘like for like’ basis in terms of aesthetics.

We will be working with PTA Architecture to deliver these projects. We have worked with them previously on the Southern Cross Care projects (now Mercy Health).

OVERCOMING CHALLENGES

Redmond Park is a 6 storey facility, located on a busy local thoroughfare (Pigdon Street) so we’ll need to implement a very robust traffic management plan to satisfy the requirements of the City of Yarra council.
