Project Specifications
Design and construction of a new self storage facility.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Total Construction was awarded the contract for the design and construction of a new self-storage facility for Kennards. The scope comprised the construction of three buildings – a four-storey building, a two-storey building, and a single-story building with offices and customer service areas.
The physical site involved working around easements for Ausgrid, Sydney Trains and Sydney Water. The site was raised to new levels, involving importation of material.
A Sydney Water stormwater culvert that dissects the site was constructed.
OVERCOMING CHALLENGES
Challenges within this site included working and co-ordinating with authorities. In addition, the site is across two separate councils and required two separate development applications and two separate construction certificates.
One quarter of the project cost related to site preparation, earthworks and construction of the new stormwater culvert.
