Project Specifications
Construction works at an existing facility.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Total Construction completed the construction of a ground and first floor infill building between two existing buildings, the extension to the side of another building of the existing facility, and the installation of additional storage units in existing spaces. The project delivered 1,256m² of storage units over two levels in new and existing buildings on site.
The exterior cladding was completed using AFS panels which were painted in the standard corporate colours. The roof was finished with a metal roofing cladding with insulation and safety wire.
OVERCOMING CHALLENGES
The fact that the site was an occupied premises, meant that the construction of the new buildings in the existing courtyard and to the side of Building 3 were challenging due to access limitations which included maintaining access to existing staff in the facility.
The location of the site on the very busy intersection of Hoddle Street and the Eastern Freeway exit ramp meant that site access was severely limited. To ensure the works were completed safely and on time, all deliveries and site works had to be meticulously co-ordinated.
