Construction of a new GLA & Administration Building
This 3 storey construction comprises a combination of concrete and structural steel for the wall and roof system and concrete slab (both ground and suspended). The finishes are varied to suit the functionality and purpose of the building.
It is a requirement that the facility is to remain operational during construction works. Due to this the client has a number of procedural requirements including daily communication between Total’s Site Manager and the school. This communication is necessary to avoid any risk to the health and safety of the students of the facility as well as the staff.
During preliminary negotiations of the works, the estimating team produced an alternative product and design cost plan for the benefit of the client.
The establishment of management plans is in accordance with the school’s best interest. This includes organising contractors’ access to all stages separated from the main routes of travel and noise notifications to be distributed accordingly. It is our primary motive on site to keep the students and staff safe, happy and healthy during our presence. Constant communication channels between Total’s staff on site and in the office and the client’s representatives on site and in the office is kept to ensure all safety procedures are met and that the most optimal outcome in everyone’s best interest is met.
