Project Specifications
Design and Construction of a 4 storey self storage facility
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Total Construction has been awarded the contract to construct a new 4 storey self storage facility which will be operated by Storage King.
The scope includes for a concrete slab base, two tone cladding exteriors surrounding a blockwork construction, with an illuminated Storage King feature band.
This is our 14th Storage King project nationally, and our third for Abacus in QLD.
OVERCOMING CHALLENGES
The building is triangular in design. The challenge will be in the positioning of the building, which is located next to an Energex substation and gateway. We will need to ensure a minimum 1.5m distance from the Energex boundary and a 6m frontage to the main road.
INNOVATIONS
The decision to replace tilt-up panels for blockwork will ensure stability and benefit to secure the structure. Lightweight cladding in lieu of insulated panelling will also provide cost and time savings to the client.
