Construction of a new Blowfill Production Line at Coca Cola Amatil’s facility.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

World-leading brands Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Fanta, Sprite, Powerade and Pump as well as other trademark beverages of The Coca-Cola Company are bottled at the Northmead facility. The scope for this project comprised demolition – including the removal of asbestos – installation of new services, steel stairs, walkways, pipe racking, concreting and epoxy floor finishes in line with Coca Cola Amatil’s standards.

Comprehensive planning and co-ordination were required to ensure all works were completed during a four-week shutdown period.

OVERCOMING CHALLENGES

The need to work around the client’s operations and the need for absolute food safety were the main challenges presented to the site management.

INNOVATIONS

Total utilised industrial grade polyethylene heat shrink film on a scaffold frame to contain the works and prevent contamination to the adjacent line which remained fully operational throughout the construction works. Operations were not compromised at any time during the project.
