Design and Construction of a
3-Storey residential development, refurbishment of a heritage listed building and associated works


This project comprises the demolition of an existing apartment building to make way for a 3-storey, 36 apartment residential development for HousingFirst. The development will provide affordable housing for mothers and children.

The new apartment development will comprise ground floor slab, lightweight first and second levels.

Thermally broken windows will provide benefits to the heating and cooling of the apartments and common areas as well as providing acoustic protection.

Works also include for the refurbishment of the heritage listed Bundalohn Mansion building, with features preserved to create 10 self-contained apartments.

There will be unobtrusive works to Darwalla House to ensure fire and electrical compliance throughout the building.

The works are staged to allow for partial handover of the residential apartments in November 2020, Bundalohn Mansion in July 2020 and Darwalla House in June 2020.


Protection of the heritage listed architecturally designed mansion and Bluestone paving which is such a predominant feature of the site is paramount.

Located within a dense residential area, neighbour and traffic considerations will need to be closely monitored and managed with all stakeholders at all times.
