Total has been awarded the contract for the Design & Construct of renovation works at Allity’s Claremont Terrace aged care facility.
Initially engaged on an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) contract, Total assisted with the design development to the 75% and 100% stages of the project prior to award of the project through negotiated tender.
The scope comprises a new commercial kitchen, laundry, construction of a new café and the upgrade of common areas including living and dining areas. Works also cater for the upgrade of concierge desks, staff room facilities and a number of bedrooms splits to increase resident capacity to 170.
All of the works will be completed whilst the facility remains fully operational, and will therefore be carried out in 8 stages.
The construction program has been developed to best manage the works and ensure minimal disruption to the facility operations.
Through the design phase, Total assisted the client to overcome some design challenges and temporary relocations of critical services including kitchen, resident laundry and salon.
This is our second project with Allity, and our fifth with Project Managers DCWC.
