In 2017 the Total team were proudly appointed by Our Lady of Consolation as the construction partner for the first of a two-stage, seniors living development in Toongabbie. This significant project will deliver the much-needed affordable housing and health and wellbeing services for residents in the Hills District. The first stage was completed in 2019. In May 2020 we were proud to be appointed to commence Stage 2.
Total Construction Managing Director, Steve Taylor along with Architects Simon Thorne (Director & Architect at IDG), Andrew Elia (Director & Architect at IDG), Josh Andren (Associate Director & Architect at IDG), and Mark Varnam (Construction Manager at Total), Marc Gower (Project Manager at Total), Gary Budin (Site Manager at Total), joined Our Lady Of Consolation CEO Barry Wiggins and Executive Team on site earlier this month to officially mark the commencement of Stage 2.
This exciting project will deliver a total of 74 seniors living apartments spanning five levels, a modern light-filled café, medical suites, therapy rooms and a hydrotherapy pool as well as a stunning entrance foyer.
Our Lady Of Consolation CEO Barry Wiggins said, ‘As an organisation, we live by our values and we are committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of our elders. Our mission is to deliver integrated, safe and affordable communities where people feel they belong.’
Steve Taylor, Managing Director Total Construction spoke of the importance of this development for the community in Western Sydney. ‘We have over 25 years’ experience in building both seniors living and aged care developments, so we understand how important it is to stay connected with friends and family especially as you get older. This state-of-the-art senior living precinct will provide a vibrant and welcoming community where the residents can maintain their independence and connections and so much more.’
Steve goes on to stay, ‘Stage 1 has been a huge success in meeting the needs of older Australian’s seeking to live in a safe, affordable and supportive community.
