Construction of a 5 level Self Storage facility

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Total Construction successfully completed the Designed and Construction of this 5 level storage facility for Victoria Prime Storage.

The building has been constructed of concrete precast panelling with a glass and cladding front facade.

The facility comprises a lower ground floor, ground floor and levels 1, 2 and 3 and has been fitted out to meet the requirements of National Storage who have taken over the tenancy.

Two goods and passenger lifts were installed to service all levels, including the basement loading / unloading area.

To aid access and programming, a Tower Crane was erected to assist with the installation of the panelling, the unloading of construction materials such as form work, as well as being utilised to install structural steel.

Landscaping works completed the build.

OVERCOMING CHALLENGES

A tight site in general abutting Canterbury Road at the front and a rail reserve at the rear meant constant traffic management and coordination with VicTrack at all times. This was essential in organising the Tower Crane and the water and sewerage connections which are also in this reserve.
